Observations
CORN HARVEST INFORMATION
Harvest date: October 30
Total accumulated CHU*: 2997.2
Total accumulated rainfall*: 114.1
*source: 4rcast.com
Harvest results:
MZ 3117DBR: 113.1 bu/ac (avg)
E63G62 R: 113.9 bu/ac (avg)
MZ 3818DBR: 124.2 bu/ac (avg)
This plot was planted relatively late and subsequently experienced severe drought conditions, impacting the yield results across the board. The planting depth trial yielded some interesting results in these extreme conditions. Check out the harvest gallery for all the results and further information.
SOYBEAN HARVEST INFORMATION

Katonda R2: 56.1 bu/ac
Maris R2X: 54.0 bu/ac
Cyclone R2X: 59.6 bu/ac
This plot was planted relatively late and subsequently experienced severe drought conditions, impacting the yield results across the board. Check out the harvest gallery for all the results and further information.
Leigh Hudson checks out the plot after four days of fairly heavy frost. Check out her video updates on how it looks to be impacting the soybeans and the corn.
Ears were counted and yield estimates were calculated for the 2” versus 3” planting depth agronomy trial. Check out the numbers for each hybrid in the Agronomy gallery, along with photos of ear samples from each hybrid at various populations and planting depths.
The forage soybean trial with Superior R2X and Mammouth V R2X was harvested. Check out their final yields and feed values in the Forage Bean Trial gallery.
Leigh Hudson teamed up with Rob Gowan of Purina Agribrands to discuss the timing of cutting forage beans. Watch it here!
MZ 2982DBR is a little more upright than MZ 2699DBR and showing a little less drought stress than 2699DBR. In addition, 2982DBR has a darker tassel than 2699DBR.
MZ 3117DBR has a semi-upright plant stature and is more compact than MZ 2982DBR and MZ 2699DBR. It is showing less drought stress than both 2982DBR and 2699DBR. This could be field related or the result of a little later flowering than 2982DBR and 2699DBR.
E 63G62R has a red tassel and is a semi-upright plant type. It is showing a consistent cob set and large leaves.
MZ 3818DBR had a little later flower than the E 67H92R and is semi-upright and showing very few stress symptoms. It is almost tasseling.
Mammouth V is at the R2 stage and showing a very large trifoliate.
Superior R2X is at the R2.5 stage, showing a very large trifoliate and a darker green than Mammouth. It also is showing a little more drought response than Mammouth.
Cyclone R2X has a big canopy with many flowers throughout the plant. It is
handling stress relatively well.
Maris R2X has a little more branch than Katonda R2. It is a little shorter than Katonda but has similar flowering.
Katonda R2 is a semi-bush plant that is still flowering through the heat and displaying excellent stress tolerance.
Woden R2X is a bushy plant showing a large trifoliate. It is slightly shorter than Katonda R2.
MZ 3117DBR showing a slight preference for 3″ depth vs. 2″. E63G62 R emerging equally well at both depths, as is MZ 3818DBR, which came out of the ground quite quickly.
Soybeans planted in 15″ rows; corn planted in 30″ rows.
