Katonda R2: 51.4 bu/ac
Stingray R2X: 42.3 bu/ac

The winner of this plot was RX Response at 54.3 bu/ac, and it also topped the income/acre metric. Our two featured varieties performed relatively well too. Check out the harvest gallery to see more results and information.

Crops in this area are stressed, with just under 2” of rain since mid-July.

E44H12 R had shown great pollination and yield potential earlier in the season; it is now showing some tip-back as a result of the lack of moisture.

MZ 1688DBR seems to be handling the drought fairly well, with excellent ear girth and 18 kernel rows on most ears.

Stingray R2X is potentially showing to be a bit earlier-maturing of a bean than expected with an RM of 0.4. It has a great first pod height for ease of harvest and demonstrates good disease tolerance as the plot did not receive any fungicide application.

Katonda R2 is certainly on the high-end of maturity for this area. We are not seeing any diseases in these beans. Plant height as well as standability are showing to be excellent.
